The non-profit Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania supports the mission of the world-class Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, which works in the community to document, preserve and interpret the great treasures of railroading and provide educational opportunities about this important aspect of American history.
The Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania is actively engaged in the stewardship of more than 100 historic locomotives and railroad cars, preservation of over half a million two and three-dimensional artifacts and education of 125,000 annual Museum visitors.
can digitize 10 historic railroad blueprints, to protect the invaluable originals and to utilize the copies for research.
can provide a week-long summer day camp experience for one child ages 9 through 12, for critical learning and socialization.
can be used toward the purchase of paint for one historic caboose, to stabilize and preserve it for today's and future generations, as well as improve its appearance.
