Set in the heart of Lancaster County in an actual Pennsylvania German village on 100 acres, the open-air museum offers a true living history experience to visitors from all over the world. Gardeners love the gardens filled with preserved heirlooms. History lovers explore the largest collection of Pennsylvania German artifacts in the country. Families of all ages love to get up close to the animals, talk to friendly craftspeople, and have fun with hands-on learning activities. All of this combines to create a rich, interactive, introduction to rural Pennsylvania German life.
Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum provides historical education opportunities for the Lancaster County area: schools visit, homeschoolers study here, visitors interact with artisans and tradespeople. It also preserves a huge collection of Pennsylvania German artifacts, animals, and seed varieties.
