The Literacy Council of Lancaster-Lebanon is a non-profit agency that provides adult basic literacy education services to approximately 900 adults each year. Free programs and services offered include: basic literacy, English as a Second Language, preparation for high school equivalency exams, skills for transition to post-secondary education, career readiness skills, subject area tutoring (such as reading or math), and American Sign Language for non-native English language learners. Classes, small groups, and one-to-one tutoring are offered to students according to their learning needs and goals.
By offering adult basic and literacy education services to the adults in need in our community, we help them prepare to not only meet their individual education goals, but also become contributing family members, workers and community members.
