Power Packs Project recognizes the vital role that nutrition plays in the ability of children to learn in school. The unique program provides a long term solution to hunger by providing a weekly pack filled with a recipe and ingredients to make a healthy meal, staples to help families get through the weekend, and additional information that serves to meet the mission, "teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime". Power Packs can be found in 12 school districts and serves over 7,000 people.
Power Packs provides weekend food, recipes and nutritional information to feed insecure families throughout Lancaster County. The goal is to empower families to provide healthy meals so that children come to school well-fed and ready to learn.
