Resurrection Catholic School was formed in 1991 when the schools of St. Joseph, St. Anthony and St. Mary consolidated. We are located in historic Lancaster City where we operate a strong and vibrant school in which children from diverse cultural backgrounds share the opportunity to achieve excellence in a safe, happy and spiritually nurturing environment. Our dedicated faculty, caring staff, devoted parents and enthusiastic volunteers provide a setting that builds character, self esteem and a desire to succeed. Our demographics are: 50% Latino, 44% White, 5% Asian, and 1% African-American; 54% of families qualify for free or reduced lunch.
We serve kindergarten through 8th grade students from Lancaster County. Fully accredited, Resurrection offers a challenging and faith based curriculum. Students receive a foundation in the Catholic faith that guides them to make choices that reflect their values.
Help cover expenses for students' educational experiences in Lancaster because we want them to know and appreciate the city, but these opportunities (including the Landis Valley Museum, Walking Tour of Lancaster, Rock Ford Plantation. Lancaster Science Factory, Wheatland, Hans Herr House, Central Market) must be donor funded..
Help expand current offerings in the student library to include more Spanish, Vietnamese and bilingual books, so students may improve native language grammar and spelling skills as they learn English.
Cover the cost of one laptop for a student. A school goal is to equip students in 5th to 8th grades with personal computers. One-to-one programs have become more necessary in the education arena as the ability to instantly access research has become possible through the advancement of technology. Our program will cost $41,000 which is beyond the technology fund’s ability to satisfy. Besides benefits to our educational program, the one-to-one program will level the field for students who lack home computers.
